Kaziranga is open roughly November to April. Winter mornings are crisp and ideal for wildlife activity, while March offers pleasant weather and good sightings.
Monsoon closure
From May, heavy rains flood the park and it closes; the floods are actually vital to the ecosystem that sustains the rhinos.
Tea and river
The dry season is also best for tea-estate stays and Brahmaputra cruises, so it's the ideal all-round window for Assam.
