Day-by-day plan
Day 1: Arrive Paro; drive to Thimphu.
Day 2: Thimphu sightseeing — Buddha Dordenma, memorial chorten and the dzong.
Day 3: Cross Dochula Pass to Punakha; visit Punakha Dzong.
Day 4: Return to Paro.
Day 5: Hike to the Tiger's Nest (Taktsang) monastery.
Day 6: Depart Paro.

- Gateway: Paro International Airport (or fly to Bagdogra and enter by land at Phuentsholing)
- Best time: March to May (spring blooms) and October to December (clear autumn skies) are finest; time your trip with a tshechu festival if you can.
