How to reach Bhutan from Mumbai
There are two routes: fly Mumbai–Paro (via a hub) for the quickest entry, or fly Mumbai–Bagdogra and drive to the Phuentsholing land border. We advise which suits your dates and budget, and manage permits either way.
The classic circuit
Most Mumbai travellers do the 5–7 night Paro–Thimphu–Punakha loop, crowned by the hike to the Tiger's Nest (Taktsang) monastery. Add Phobjikha for cranes and quiet valleys if you have extra nights.
Permits & best time
Indian nationals need an entry permit (which we process) and Bhutan's Sustainable Development Fee applies. October–December and March–May give the clearest skies; we plan around Mumbai school holidays for family departures.
