The route
Starting from Yuksom, the trail climbs through rhododendron forest to Dzongri and Thansing before the pre-dawn push to the Goecha La viewpoint — around 7–9 days round trip.
Fitness and season
This is a demanding trek above 4,000 m requiring good fitness and acclimatisation. Best seasons are spring (Mar–May) and autumn (Sep–Nov).
