Gurudongmar Lake Guide: One of the World's Highest Lakes (2026)

At about 5,430 m, Gurudongmar is a sacred, breathtaking lake in North Sikkim reached via Lachen on an early-morning drive. Acclimatise properly, keep visits short at altitude, and note access is weather- and permit-dependent.

What we handle

TripTrix Voyages arranges transfers, stays and all documentation for Sikkim. Indian nationals need inner-line permits for protected areas such as Tsomgo, Nathula and North Sikkim, which we arrange.

  • Gateway: Bagdogra Airport (about 4–5 hours by road to Gangtok)
  • Best time: March to May for rhododendrons and clear skies, October to mid-December for the crispest Kanchenjunga views, and December to March for snow around Tsomgo and North Sikkim.
  • Permits, transport and stays fully managed

TripTrix Voyages runs Sikkim year-round with permits handled and hand-picked stays — agents can request net rates for any Sikkim itinerary.
