Getting to North East India is easier than many expect, with two main gateways serving almost every itinerary.
By air
Guwahati (LGBI) is the region's main hub for Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal and Nagaland. Bagdogra serves Darjeeling, Sikkim and Bhutan (overland). Other airports include Dimapur, Imphal, Aizawl and Agartala.
By train
New Jalpaiguri (NJP) near Siliguri serves the hills, while Guwahati is the main railhead for the east. Onward travel is by road.
Overland and Bhutan
Bhutan is reached by air to Paro or overland via Phuentsholing, close to our Siliguri base.
- Main hubs: Guwahati & Bagdogra
- Rail: NJP (hills) & Guwahati (east)
