Kaziranga National Park is one of Asia's great wildlife destinations, protecting two-thirds of the world's one-horned rhinos on the Brahmaputra floodplain.
What you'll see
Beyond rhinos — seen on almost every safari — Kaziranga shelters tigers, wild elephants, swamp deer and superb birdlife amid tall grass and wetlands.
The ranges
The central (Kohora) and western (Bagori) ranges are best for rhino and elephant; the eastern (Agoratoli) range is a birder's favourite. Morning jeep safaris give the best activity.
Planning tips
The park is open roughly November to April. It's an easy drive from Guwahati and pairs naturally with a Shillong extension.
- Open ~Nov–April
- Morning safaris are best
- Book safari permits in advance
- Combine with Guwahati & Shillong
We arrange Kaziranga safaris, lodges and naturalists — ask for net rates.
