Sandakphu Trek: The Sleeping Buddha & Four 8000ers

The Sandakphu trek, along the Singalila ridge on the Nepal border, is one of the few places on Earth to see four of the world's five highest peaks — including Everest and Kanchenjunga — in one sweep.

The 'Sleeping Buddha'

From Sandakphu, the Kanchenjunga massif forms the famous 'Sleeping Buddha' silhouette on the horizon, unforgettable at sunrise.

The trek

A moderate 4–6 day trek from Manebhanjan near Darjeeling, doable for reasonably fit beginners, with teahouse stays along the way.

  • Highest point in West Bengal
  • Views of Everest & Kanchenjunga
  • 4–6 days, moderate
  • Best: Oct–Dec & Mar–May

We arrange guided Sandakphu treks with permits and stays — request net rates.
